8 - Programming

Programming is the process of providing instructions to the computer. Programming is sometimes referred to as coding because the instructions in the early days of computing were numerical codes where each code performed a certain function. The set of instructions used to accomplish a task is commonly referred to as a program.  Computer programs can vary in complexity from simple short programs that display a message on the screen, to a program that performs complex tasks with millions of lines of code. The complexity is usually dependant on the type of work the program is expected do. If the task is simple, then the program is usually simple and if the task is complex, then the program is complex.
